Visibility is currently around 15-20 ft, based on the latest Scripps Pier camera image. The back pylon on the left side of the frame is just barely visible, but the image remains soft and slightly hazy rather than sharply defined.

This level of clarity lines up with moderate residual sediment from recent swell, combined with typical early-spring phytoplankton levels in the water column. Surface conditions appear relatively calm, which is limiting visibility from reaching its full potential.

If visibility pushes into the 25-35 ft range, conditions would likely improve into the A- range. For now, today earns a solid B rating — decent visibility with manageable haze, and still very diveable.

Early morning conditions were typically best before wind and surface chop increased through the day.
