March 11, 2026 / Grade: B-

Visibility is currently around 15–20 ft, based on the latest Scripps Pier camera image. Conditions are looking solid today with clear skies and good light penetration. The water has a nice blue-green hue, and the pilings are clearly visible with decent clarity extending well past the 11 ft back pylon. A mix of west-northwest and southwest swells is creating some surface texture but nothing that significantly impacts underwater visibility.

šŸ“Š Current Conditions

• Wind: 5 mph from the ESE

• Swell: 1.6 ft @ 10s WNW (288°) — primary, plus 0.9 ft @ 20s SW

• Tide: 0.7 ft (low tide at 11:30 AM), rising

• Water Temp: 62°F

• Air Temp: 52°F with clear skies

• Cloud Cover: Clear (0%)

Conditions are shaping up well today. The west-northwest swell at 10 seconds is relatively short-period and won't stir up the bottom much. The longer-period southwest component adds some texture but stays deep. Light offshore winds and clear skies mean excellent surface conditions with minimal particulate matter suspended in the water column.

If winds stay light through the afternoon, we could see visibility push toward the upper end of the range. For now, today earns a solid B- rating — good conditions for diving with clear water and manageable surface chop.

Best dive window: Late morning (10 AM – 12 PM) during low tide slack, or early afternoon before any onshore breeze develops.

āœ… Summary

• Estimated Visibility: 15–20 ft

• Dive Grade: B-

• Conditions: Good — clear skies, manageable swell, decent vis
